Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's Attarintiki Daredi, with its steady progress, is just 6 crores away from the 4 year old record set by Charan's Magadheera in 2009. Latest reports indicate that AD touched 67 crores in worldwide collections and is still going strong.

After its full run, Magadheera stood as the highest grossing film of all time, raking in nearly 73 crores. This figure makes Charan's film the top Tollywood film by a wide margin, as the second best stood far away. That gap has been filled by Attarintiki Daredi, which is on its way to crossing Magadheera's figure. The fact that Attarintiki Daredi has managed this miracle despite the availability of its pirated copy speaks volumes about Powerstar and the film's content.

Following the AD success meet, Pawan hinted at harsh punishment to pirates and much bigger plans in the wings. It goes on to prove that a unanimous sympathy wave for this film worked wonders for its performance. Combining all factors, Pawan Kalyan's run at the box office is unshakeable. Attarintiki Daredi is still the preferred film even though new films like Ramayya Vasthavayya and Doosukeltha released in the past few weeks.

Several agitations raised their fiery passion against Attarintiki Daredi movie, despite Pawan Kalyan not being a part of any political decisions. After Telangana protests, Seemandhra protests are also back to torment the Mega family.

Since Chiranjeevi tried to play a cat on the wall role between Seemandhra and Telangana, both sides are extremely angry with his conduct. Consequently, they want to stop Pawan's way towards his many admirers, who are eager to catch the film this Friday. Though the Union Minister himself is safe at home, the protestor's misguided direction towards Powerstar is saddening.

One day before the film release, agitators in Vijayanagaram have burnt Attarintiki Daredi posters, expressing their anger over Chiranjeevi's refusal to resign in support of United Andhra. Pawan Kalyan hit back with a vengeance with Gabbar Singh not too long ago, after experiencing a string of average to bad movies. Powerstar has now bought the rights for the famous title. Next up is Attarintiki Daredi, which promises true Pawanism style entertainment with a beautiful doll like Samantha for a heroine.

The hype that built gradually for this film has nothing to do with the filmmakers' promotion. The simple thought of Pawan giving us a clean, witty comedy was enough to drive up anticipation for AD. Once the teaser released, everyone went crazy over the superb look. Then came the audio release. Pawan's speech and sensitivity towards everyone made him the darling of the masses.

With the songs hitting the right chord, the wait for Attarintiki Daredi turned from pleasant anticipation to feverish wait. When the release date was announced, thousands were counting the days. Unfortunately, state agitations against bifurcation blazed fire all over Andhra Pradesh, sending producers running for new dates. Hence, AD release was postponed thrice, keeping a check on the political pulse of the state.

Disappointment turned to sadness, which in turn turned to fans picking up bit and pieces of each update that was announced or leaked. It was at this time of severe thirst that someone with access to the film's content decided to make a profit. Suspected to be a distributor friend of AD director, he leaked half the film to pirates waiting for the opportunity. They passed on the high quality video to all sections. The leaked content spread like wild fire.

Everyone wants to watch Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's Attarintiki Daredi. Certain CD rental shops took advantage of this craze and began circulating the available 90 minutes content of the movie. Police officials got scent of such shops on Monday and promptly raided them, seizing many pirated CDs and DVDs.

One police official was quoted by IANS as saying that they have raided several CD and mobile servicing shops and seized pirated discs on sale for Rs 50 each. “We have taken them into custody and we are conducting raids throughout the state," the official said. The cop added that the first copy of the film was sold in a town named Pedana near Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh and was circulated to the neighboring districts.

Once news of the leak became known, Attarintiki Daredi producer BVSN Prasad filed a complaint with the police. An official spokesperson for AD confirmed that the director pressed for immediate action against all involved pirates. “A special team has been assigned to raid the CD shops,” the person said.

Since 9th August, which was the initial release date, Attarintiki Daredi was postponed to 9th October and later preponed to 27th September. Celebrities from the Telugu Film Industry have come out in support for a 'Save AD', 'Save TFI' stand on the shocking case of Attarintiki Daredi piracy. While condemning the act of leaking a large part of the film, various actors and directors are urging everyone to stop passing on the pirated content.

Samantha, the lead actress in Attarintiki Daredi, has called on to her followers to support AD. “There was a lot of hardwork and a lot of money invested. Let good cinema win.Our humble request,” she tweeted.

Director Rajamouli gave the best answer saying, "Please don't tweet links to me or any other person. Just mail them to legal@apfilmchamber.com. Thank you." Please refrain from forwarding the files viewers.

Ramayya Vasthavayya director Harish Shankar, though a competitor to AD, said he seriously condemns this insensitive criminal act.  “I request Every individual to react Seriously and teach a Lesson by not buying that crap. Links should be mailed to Concerned people and offices. Please Don't tweet the links in Social networks. By doing so situation gets even Worse" he urged.

Pawan's fan Ram Gopal Varma had a sarcastic take on the whole issue. "Irony is that all concerned condemning attharintiki daaredi piracy are actually giving publicity to the fact that its avilable on line.” he reminded. Actor Nitin, another diehard Pawan Kalyan fan, pleaded, "Please don't support piracy. Save TFI.”

Actor Siddharth also showed his love for Powerstar saying, “A film leaking before release is unforgivable and a tragedy. And for it to happen to the biggest telugu film of the year is shocking. There is no doubt that Pawan Kalyan's film will overcome this pre release leak and emerge a blockbuster. Time for the fans to show strength! I support 'Atharintiki Daaredi'. If you're a telugu film lover, you should too.”

Not just Pawan's admirers, all movie lovers and Tollywood supporters are requested to come out and act against piracy. It is an evil that can happen to anyone in the industry. Powerstar Pawan Kalyan has a magnetic pull among the youth. Boys aside, even girls are quite crazy about the 'Khushi' actor, who has a distinct style of performing. Why then are his future heroines refusing his films?

It has come as a huge surprise that an established actor such as Pawan Kalyan need to think so much before agreeing to a heroine. It's been a predominant factor about the rivalry between Chiranjeevi and Rajasekhar-Jeevitha as a result of their political aspirations. Likewise, the same aspect has also generated a rift between our Angry Young Man and Pawan Kalyan who is always there to fight for his brother.

While Pawan Kalyan and Rajasekhar-Jeevitha reached the venue at the same time. After spotting our Mega hero, the senior actor invited him to pose for the cameras along with the newly married couple. By offering a shake hand, Pawan softly turned down the appeal and asked Rajasekhar to proceed as he was the one who arrived on to the dais first. Powerstar waited till Rajasekhar-Jeevitha finished their part to congratulate the young couple.

Finally, it's really commendable to see both Pawan and Rajasekhar handling the situation in such a noble manner, in spite of having differences of opinion.
