The first poster of Rajinikanth starrer 'Lingaa' is out on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. As usual Rajini looked stunning in the first glimpses and a temple in the backdrop has raised curiosity over the plot of the film.

Lingaa marks the debut of Bollywood beauty Sonakshi Sinha who will be seen in female lead role while Anushka Shetty in another female lead. 'Legend' antagonist Jagapathi Babu will be seen opposite to Rajini in this film.

The film is directed by KS Ravikumar and has music of double Oscar winner AR Rahman.

South Superstar Rajinikanth has completed four decades of journey in the film industry. Rajini started his career with the National-Award winning film 'Apoorva Raagangal' in 1975 and from then on he never ever looked backed. This stylish icon also made it to the Bollywood in 1983 with 'Andha Kanoon' which also had Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini. The movie was a massive hit and Rajini has crossed the limits in becoming popular.

Not stopping here, in terms of remuneration also, Rajini is highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan. Apparently Rajini was paid Rupees 26 crores for Sivaji movie [2007] and received more than that for Endhiran (Robot) movie [2010]. In 2000, the union government awarded Rajini with Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award.

Currently, Rajini is shooting for 'Lingaa' movie and the team celebrated this historic event in the sets. Bollywood diva Sonakshi Sinha who is playing the female lead role, posted a picture of the celebrations in her micro blogging account. “40 years of entertaining ppl like a boss! I was just part of a historic celebration! Congrats @SuperstarRajini sir!,” tweeted Sonakshi.

Aamir as Baddie in Robot 2 ?

In what a sensational news, Aamir Khan is heard to be approached to play the baddie role in Rajinikanth's Robot 2 which is rumoured to be in the pipeline of director Shankar.  Sources have said, the preliminary talks are on to sign Aamir but the star hero wasn't approached.

We have earlier reported too that Shankar was considering to make the sequel of this 2010 blockbuster but as both are busy with present commitments, not even a single step moved ahead. If the sources are true, then it will be Shankar's second attempt to work with Mr. Perfectionist.

Earlier, Shankar contacted Aamir with Robot subject which was first offered to Shah Rukh Khan. However, Aamir too declined the film and later it went to Superstar Rajinikanth.

Probably Aamir's baddie role in Dhoom 3 attracted Shankar more and so he approached with the antagonist role.  Will Aamir say yes then it would be feast for fans.

Rajini's Kochadaiiyaan gets a release date

After postponing several times, Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan (Vikramasimha in Telugu) has got another release date and this time the film will be hitting screens on April 11th. Being India's first 3D motion capture movie, the post production of the Kochadaiiyaan is taking loads of time and so the release of the movie is getting delayed.

Deepika Padukone is pairing with Rajinikanth and his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth is directing the film. AR Rahman is composing music and Eros International is producing the movie with a budget of Rupees 125 crores.

Ram's Leela is serving her heady cocktail in a desi container, come November. Deepika Padukone packs a punch, not with her fist, but with her performances. She went all out in her recent releases, be it Cocktail, Race 3, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani or Chennai Express. Her Ram Leela co-star Ranveer Singh also agrees that she is uninhibited when it comes to her roles.

In Cocktail and Race 3, she romanced Saif Ali Khan, showcasing a fiery party girl. The spunky actress then moved from cocktails to sober girl roles with Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan. All four films are huge hits, particularly Chennai Express. Next up is Sanjay Leela Bhasali's Ram Leela. Deepika dons a colorful Ghagra and Choli, lustily romancing Ranveer like there is no tomorrow.

She will not stop there. In December, she will don more jewelery to play Rajinikanth's Kochadaiiyaan princess. From a party girl to desi princess, Deepika Padukone earned a very pretty spot at the top of the numbers game. She was recently considered to play Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's romantic interest in Gabbar Singh 2. Alas, her consecutive hits ensured remuneration raised along with the popularity.

Recently, she is also rumored to have declined a role opposite Shahid Kapoor for unknown reasons, leaving the actor dejected. If Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3 is giving nightmares to Tollywood stars, Deepika is also emerging as a strong competitor. Nagarjuna preponed Bhai to avoid a clash with Krrish 3 this Diwali. Right after Hrithik hits the screens, Deepika is coming dancing along. From passionate kisses to intense expressions, Deepika Padukone's Ram Leela act is quite a head turner.
