European Film Festival at Hyderabad
18th European Union Film Festival is going to start today at Prasad Labs, Banjara Hills. It will go on up to 8th June.
The
program is called 'Celebrating Women' as the films are based on the
themes that revolve around women. The films that will be exhibited in
the film festival will show case different facets of woman's life and
gives an insight into their lives that are unique to them. It gives an
opportunity to the audience to get into the inner layers of a woman’s
heart to understand a feeling that dwells there.
The
movies in the festival although are women oriented, they are from
different genre. Some are comedies, some are dramas and many cannot be
classified but are sure to give a message to all whether the audience is
a woman or a man, youth or elder generation.
A
total of 24 films are going to be exhibited in their original languages
with sub-titles in English. These films are not screened in India so
far excepting in the same film festivals at Delhi and other places.
Some of the languages will be heard by Indians for the first time.
The
European film festival is organized by EU delegation and Embassies of
the EU Member States in collaboration with many Indian organizations.
Out of the 11 Centers, the film festival is already conducted in 8
Centers in India.
